Counselling - My Approach
At the heart of counselling is forming a strong, trusting, and non-judgemental relationship. I hope to provide this space and support all clients with care and warmth. I am flexible with my approach and tailor sessions to the needs and desires of the client. Some clients request some directiveness while others just need a space to be heard. Similarly, some welcome being carefully challenged whilst others prefer not.

My training is in Pluralistic Counselling which draws from a range of modalities such as:
-
CBT
-
Psychodynamic
-
Person-Centred
-
Gestalt
-
Transactional Analysis
-
Existentialism
-
Internal Family Systems
My extended interest in Philosophy covers some of the writings of: Thomas Aquinas, Spinoza, Kierkegaard, Jaspers, Buber, Chesterton etc. My approach is broadly existential with specific consideration for the presenting challenges faced by the client.

Point of disclosure: Although I often work with Christian clients and provide a Spiritual Direction Service, my counselling practice is secular. Matters of faith may be brought into sessions if the client requests.
